Do you feel you could create another website if asked to do so? Was it easier (or more difficult) to create this website that you thought it would be? This project was definitely a handful, mostly due to the fact that I am not nearly as tech competent as I thought I was (which wasn't all that high to begin with....oh well. We're here to learn, right?). I kind of enjoyed being able to play around with everything and also envision how I can use this when I actually do become a teacher. I went to my old high school's website and noticed that several teachers have their own websites. Some hardly work, and some are great, but it's good to see that teachers are trying to use technology and reach out to their students in another way (a way that teens are very familiar with). I feel like overall, the project was beneficial. Making the website was awesome. I feel like some of the stuff was unnecessary (like making the syllabus- we'd already been taught how to use the googledoc, and I didn't particularly enjoy coming up with 2 course syllabuses. I think I would use a class website like this for my future classes. I think it was very handy, useful, fun, and reaches out to the students (it also shows that you are willing to put more time into helping them). I think I could create a new website if asked to. It would take me a bit to get it completely right, but I could eventually do it. Parts of this project were harder and parts were easier than I thought it would be. It mostly just took a long time to get it all correct and the way I wanted. I did have to ask a few classmates for help on things, so it's a good thing we're teaching majors and willing to help one another! Overall, good project. Lots of work, but good and beneficial for our future.
