2 point ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Reflection Question: Were there any Web 2.0 tools that we talked about today that you feel would help further education? How might you use them in your teaching? Also, how might Facebook be utilized in education?

As funny as this sounds- I think youtube could definitely help. There are videos for basically everything up there. Diigo is an awesome website that could help a ton with studying and research. You can use both youtube and diigo to help teaching (have students watch/make videos for youtube, use diigo for studying and research). You can also use blogger for your teaching (class updates, info, etc.). Facebook could definitely be used in education. You can make a group for your class and events reminding them for tests and big assignments and such. It also can give you an eye on your students socially (be aware of bullies) and you can sometimes see what's going on in their life (this may require a little facebook-stalking.... haha).

If you haven’t done so already, upload your videos to youtube and then embed the videos on your blog. In the same post talk about your experience making these videos. Was it positive? Negative? Did you find it a valuable experience? Do you think you could make another video without help if you were asked to do so? Do you think you would do some type of video project in your classroom? Other thoughts or comments? ALSO remember to fill out your evaluation of yourself in the rubric on your grade sheet.

This project was both positive and negative. I really like doing stuff like this (being creative and making cool things). I took several photography classes in high school and almost majored in it, so I love doing stuff with pictures and videos. I wish we would have had more time, and I wish I would have remembered how to do more in imovie. It was also hard because I don't have a mac, so I couldn't do too much work on this outside of the lab, and the computers in the downstairs lab have a different version of imovie. It was definitely a valuable experience. I don't know if I could do everything to make another video on my own, but I could definitely do most of it. I think it would be too difficult to do a video project in a high school setting (most kids don't have their own computers, and that would take a lot of computer lab time and most high schools don't have that many computers with these kinds of capabilities- at least my high school didn't). This project was fun, but was hard to do with partners just because schedules don't match up. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun.

ch-ch-ch-challenges baby

Reflection Question:
Talk about challenges or problems you have. If you find solutions to them, include those as well. If you find an easier way to do something or a tutorial or some other helpful resource, share that as well. Read your group member’s PLE’s and if they have a problem and you know how to fix it, leave a comment and tell them!

So I'm going to be honest- we really have done much to work on our imovie project. Life is crazy this time of year, and we're still working on getting the logistics worked out of who and when we're going to film. Our theme is "Everyday Family Play". note the word family. this means that we need to FIND a family to film (if we want it to be legit. If we do it just to get it done, i supposed we could make an FHE family from a bunch of our friends....? What do you [mainly dan, but anyone's opinion is welcome] think about that idea??) Also finding time when all of us can do it is another thing. I'm also slightly confused on some of the details on this project, which I will be discussing with my teacher today before/after class.

I was working with the imovie program during class last week. It's super cool, but I need to practice with it more. I don't have a Mac, so I can't at home, so I guess I'll be going up to campus to work on it. Right now I think I just need to fool around with it for awhile and get into the details of it before I have any specific questions about the program. Hope it all turns out ok. Here's hopin.
